Our Client Tested Us — And It Was the Best Thing Ever
At Endeavor TBD, we often say our work speaks for itself — but sometimes, it speaks on our behalf before we even know it.
We were engaged by CLLCTIVLY, an organization building an ecosystem to support Black-led organizations in Baltimore, to place a fractional operator who could support their COO while they searched for a full-time Operations Associate (a position we also supported through our role study and hiring process).
What we didn’t know? Our client was quietly testing what a few hours of smart, focused operational support could really do — not for them directly, but for one of the community-based businesses they uplift and resource.
Our fractional operator was paired with the CEO of a marketing firm in CLLCTIVLY’s network — a creative visionary deep in planning for We Give Black, a three-day gathering in Baltimore celebrating Black culture, healing, and wealth-building through workshops, keynotes, and transformative storytelling.
The challenge: process overload. An inbox full of gold, but no system to mine it efficiently.
In just a few hours, our operator:
Designed a simple, repeatable process for collecting materials from the creative team
Set up clear email labels and filing systems to tame the digital chaos
Removed blocks that were keeping a brilliant CEO out of her zone of genius
The result? Real traction. More clarity. And a leader free to focus on the work only she could do.
Later, we found out: this was a test. CLLCTIVLY wanted to see if a few hours of targeted, fractional support could make a measurable difference. It did — and now, they want to extend fractional operator support to other organizations in their network.
For us, it’s proof of what we’ve always known: Operations isn’t just about structure. It’s about liberation. When the right systems are in place, brilliant people can do their best work.
We’re excited to keep showing up — both for CLLCTIVLY’s network and for We Give Black.
